Undiscovered Anstruther #6

Forward progress - 0.  (We are only 12 miles from the birthplace of golf, after all).  Our day off in this wee fishing village was delightful and surprising. Hard to believe that the "Scottish Fisheries Museum" was, as advertised "one of the best" - but it was amazing, illustrating the history of fishing in this area from prehistoric times.  Paying homage to the men and women who have made a living from the sea.  A stroll through town can include taking in the beautifully restored buildings (several signs thanking the Scottish Lottery), the historic graveyard, and  a meal at the restaurant awarded "Best Fish and Chips in Britain" (2009).  The local co-op made a great lunch stop with fresh salads.  Or, for the more adventurous, a walk to the even smaller village of Pittoween, one mile away.  Some of us had massages (bless you, Wendy), viewed St. Fillian's Cave (7th century missionary to the Picts), and had the world's best cup of hot chocolate at the Cocoa Tree.
